Request for an Opinion

The Ethics Committee for Research in Life and Health Sciences (CE-ICVS) of the Egas Moniz Health Alliance (CAC-EMHA) Clinical Academic Center is a collegiate and advisory body of the CAC-EMHA.
Requests for an opinion to this Committee are conducted independently and in parallel with requests to the data protection officers (DPOs). Once a request is submitted, it is sent for approval to the CAC-EMHA Board and its member institutions, which then ask the CE-ICVS to analyse the process.
The process is distributed in parallel to the data protection officers of the institutions involved in the research project. The CE-ICVS and the DPOs may request additional clarification from the applicant, who, in turn, can respond within 15 business days. If no response is received within this period, the process will be archived.
The CE-ICVS and the DPOs will provide their opinions independently and then communicate them to the CAC-EMHA Board. After authorization from the CAC-EMHA, the final opinions are communicated to the applicant. Therefore, please:

In the case of studies originating from the University of Aveiro, this form and corresponding attached documentation must be prepared with the support of the corresponding Unit/department's GDPR PIVOT and must also be certified by them before being sent for evaluation by the DPOs involved.
